Privacy policy

Effective October 7, 2026

This policy explains what information the Substantia app and the substantia.app website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. Substantia is operated by Substantia Labs LLC ("we" or "us").

The short version

  • We collect only what the app needs to work: the items you add to your stack, the claims you save or read, and your email address if you create an account.
  • We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
  • You can delete your data and account at any time from Settings in the app.

Information we collect

Without an account

When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous account so your stack can be saved. This account has an identifier but no name or email address attached to it.

Information you add

The supplements and protocols you add to My Stack, along with any reason, dose or other details you enter for them, and the claims you save.

Reading activity

Which claims you have opened, so the app can show you what is new or unread.

If you create an account

Your email address and the password you set, or, if you choose Sign in with Apple, the email address Apple shares with us, which may be a private relay address that forwards to you. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in readable form. Creating an account keeps the stack you built anonymously.

Technical information

Like any online service, our servers receive technical information when the app connects to them, such as your IP address and basic device and request details. This is used to run and secure the service.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

What we don't collect

We don't collect your precise location, contacts, photos or Apple Health data, and we don't use advertising identifiers. Voice search is transcribed on your device. The audio is never sent to us or stored.

The launch email list

This website collects an email address only when someone joins the launch list. We use that address only to email you about Substantia, such as when the app launches and occasional product news. It is stored with Supabase, and we never sell it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we will delete your address on request at support@substantia.app.

How we use information

  • To provide the app's features, such as saving your stack and showing what is new.
  • To keep your data in sync and let you sign in to your account.
  • To answer your messages.
  • To keep the service secure and working properly.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it.
  • To comply with the law.

How we share information

We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only in these cases:

  • Service providers that run parts of the service for us under contract, including Supabase (database and account hosting, in the United States), Apple (App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple and, when offered, in-app purchases, which Apple processes), Google (email when you contact us, and the fonts on this website) and Netlify (hosting for this website).
  • Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of users, the public or Substantia.
  • Business transfers, if Substantia is merged, sold or reorganized, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

Your stack is personal

What you take can be sensitive. We treat stack information as confidential, use it only to provide the app to you, and never use it for advertising. Substantia is not a healthcare provider, and the app is for information and education, not medical advice.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while you use the app. You can delete your data at any time from Settings in the app, which removes your stack, saved claims and account. You can also email support@substantia.app to ask us to delete it. Deleted data may remain in routine backups for a limited time before it is overwritten.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can see, change or delete your stack in the app. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it or to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, and we will honor requests as the law requires.

Children

Substantia is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
