Common questions
Is Substantia medical advice?
No. Substantia summarizes published research for information and education. Talk with a doctor or pharmacist before starting, stopping or combining supplements, especially if you are pregnant, take medication or have a health condition.
Do I need an account?
No. You can read claims and build your stack without one. Creating an account keeps your stack when you change phones, and the stack you already built comes with you.
How do I delete my data?
Open the Profile tab, tap the gear to open Settings, and choose the option to delete your data and account. This removes your stack, saved claims and account. You can also email us and we will delete it for you.
How are claims written?
Each claim is summarized in plain English from its sources and read through two tracks of evidence: Formal Research and Broader Signal. Substantia doesn't grade supplements or call claims true or false. When a source was funded by industry, that is noted next to it.
I think a claim has an error
Email us with the claim's name and what looks wrong. Every report is checked against the sources.
Can you cover a supplement or protocol that isn't in the app yet?
Yes, send us the request. Requests help decide what gets researched next.
